With Subbuteo ending production of the Flat players around 1969/1970 and stopped selling them altogether by 1972… Many pro players were very upset that the original player type was no more… So as the years went on many flat clones have come to the market… Original clones arrived partly because of the end of them being offered for sale but also there was a Big Split in the Pro game between Subbuteo’s Competions that SSG only wanted 3d figures etc used and the Players who wanted to play with flat figures and bases of which at the time was still the superior equipment….

Of course as the years went on Flats finally got usurped by the flat gliding bases as the go to as the game continued to evolve… This meant Clones of flats became more of a collectable rather than pro equipment… BUT always with the aim of preserving the original way to play

Any one out there who has some other clones from different companies than the ones feature below of course let me know!! these are only the ones I know of so far…
