Here is the history of the Zeugo team boxes. This is what all the teams have come in throughout the history of Zeugo. (THIS PAGE IS FOR STANDARD TEAM BOXES FOR SPECIAL EDITION BOXES THEY ARE ON THE SPECIAL EDITION TEAMS PAGE)
A good team box has to be stylish and have to store the team well and not frustrating to put the tray back in (like the late 90’s boxes from Subbuteo. With this idea every Zeugo Box functions well and all have there own charm in the looks department.
The original box was used from the creation of the brand though to 2003 and again when the brand restarted in 2005 with the second edition. It was then replaced by my favourite the Blue version of the “standard” Zeugo team box of which had two interations one with a red banner followed by the “standard” on and this was the team box design up until about 2011/12 when replaced by the Green box (This era is also known as the Green box era). The is how its been ever since and to many people this box type is far superior in the looks department due them leaning a bit more on the Nostalgia factor of using Green (as I said I prefer the blue box as it was uniquely Zeugo but i can’t deny the Green box is Gorgeous too with the Subbuteo vibes)
Also pictured is the World Cup 2010 team box. No change from the Standard Blue box but has a gold 2010 badge. Also pictured is the Subbuteo World Exclusive sleeve sold when you bought 4 teams of which was sold as per the group they were in.
When researching i found a box seen below (second picture) This was an interesting discovery and it was completely different than all the others in the sense of there not being a plastic tray like all other boxes have had before and since. I reached out and found out the following from the always helpful Enrico. The boxes were created by Astrobase to house loads of Zeugo teams bought from Parodi in 2003 (just as they switched over to the black box Subbuteo range) of which were left over. The teams where all unboxed so Astrobase needed a solution and made these very smart boxes and to be fair could easily be better quality card used than the standard boxes.
