Tom Taylor who owned a Subbuteo Shop in Lichfield Known as Woodentop Table Soccer Shop before relocating to Knighton Wales (also renaming the shop to Peldroed Bwrdd). Tom Taylor was the first person to bring over Zeugo to UK in the year 2000. To compliment the original official First edition range there was a whole range of teams Painted to cater originally the English and Scottish teams but also expanded to more leagues etc Requests where key to more obscure teams being done. It was great as new Subbuteo content dried up Tom Taylor kept the flag flying when he bought Zeugo to the UK with new teams being regularly added.

These were painted and more teams where added up until 2010. I believe it was always on the Original First edition teams but i may be wrong until more info is sent in/i find out more info.

This was similar to the Later Subbuteo World Range of which began in 2006. The teams were not part of the official range and stand alone in there own.

Tom himself said what he did was similar to what the Italians in the Subbuteo days. Repainting official teams to cater towards there Local Market… Its funny how it went full circle.

To differentiate the teams from Zeugo 1st or even 2nd edition official Range are the labels. Generally the First edition teams came with a just a Number on the outer box whereas the Woodentop had a very smart label denoting the and team name and the League of which the team is from. (I HAVE SEEN OFFICIAL ZEUGO RANGE USE LABELS LIKE THIS) Here is a example Notice the L I original thought this helped differentiate the teams and if it was an official team it have a Z but that was not the case. I hope Tom gets back in touch to help answers some questions. My theory was that he sold the proper range then tagged teams on. I had a official France 2nd with Z00051 in the same format as below so it could make sense.
