As Subbuteo Moved into the 90’s… SSG Released a new range of teams…. These were sold in distinctive video cassette–style boxes, which is really what sets them apart from the standard range. They Boxes themselves were very hard wearing compared to the standard cardboard boxes so they felt more premium to buy… (Hence why they were given the SUPER TEAM name most likely)… They were first advertised in the Italia ’90 catalogue and included a mix of top club and international sides. The catalogue lists 25 teams, these are nailed on and we know for sure these exist… but a few extras have turned up over time (France, Belgium, St Etienne, etc.), so it’s still unclear how many were actually released in the end or how many wear added… Alas Just like the rest of the Subbuteo range nothing is simple 😉

The Teams are nothing special just your bog standard LW team its the box that made this range unique.
