NewFooty Began Production in 1929 after the successful Prototypes Will Keeling had done for his Family proved a real hit…(1927)… These were all Single pose players in Lead bases with painted tops or sometimes without paint at all… This sometimes corresponded with the teams other times it didnt this was Pre having the Patented “Balancing discs” Covers that later teams did… The Early Card Figure Teams Unlike Later years came in all one pose unlike the later years of which had a variety of “Action” poses per team.
Within the Early Card teams There Are 2 Main Variants within the Early Card Teams… They are as follows Straight Leg Pose With or with out Grass detailing and there is also a Cross Legged Variant… I Have no Concrete info on the dates for now but The only date i know for sure is the End of these being used of which the last price list that had some teams available in this format and that was 1947… 1948 onwards of course brought in the more familiar teams with multiple poses… Of Course that not as simple as you’d think as Simon Goodman Revealed another Early Card Variant id say Pre “Action” Card teams but after the Early Teams prehaps a prototype or stop gap figure… any other theory on that?
For this Early Card Section I will do my best to Cover all teams but unlike the Later ranges from 1948 onwards, Peter Upton has some info but of course not to the detail of what appeared in what form although Simon Goodman Has Given me a Good idea of what was avaliable in the Standard Straight Leg pose Early Team but the variant player types are less clear for those pages is very much a what ever shows up kind of sections…
