Hattori ToKei’s Theory as to why this happened was the Fact Liverpool won the Champions league so it’s possible that Hasbro decided to change the cards and add 3 players to the card instead of the original 3 players, resulting in 2 variant cards. They added Smicer who scored a goal in the Champions League final as well as and defender Troare who saved an empty goal in the second half at final. Morientes however would be the fact the Former Real Madrid star had just joined Liverpool in January. They may not have been released to long before the next edition, so that is why two variant cards 012 and 014 are relatively rare.
